These dark patches tend to overshadow your beauty and the light of your eyes. It is time you forget all the weariness that these dark patches so point out, and start on with a new day. Dark circles around the eyes can be very easily treated if some simple steps are followed.

1.  Sleep and rest well :
Perhaps the dark circles are coming back because you are not getting enough rest. Surprisingly, dark circles can also be seen if the eyes get overslept. There is a difference though ; the eyes get somewhat puffy after over sleeping and they get sunken when they are wearied. Get an optimum rest of 6 to 9 hours in an average. That will help in brightening up your skin and decrease the effects of dark circles.

2. Wear sunscreen with moisturizers :
The skin around the eyes are gentler than other parts of the face. Remember to protect them with sunscreen. If possible, use a gentler sunscreen for them. Sunglasses are a great way of protecting the eyes when in the sun. Pollution is also a major culprit to cause the dark circles.

3. Cleansing :
There are many cleansing tips for the eyes. Apart from the well known cucumber slices and potato slices technique, there are other beauty tips too. Apply rosewater in a cotton ball to cleanse the eyes. You can also try gently rubbing almond oil around the eyes on a daily basis (this is not suitable for women with oily skin though.)

Applying tea bags to the eyes can also help with the dark circles. Take a tea bag, dip in it rosewater, squeeze it to remove water and to have it dried somewhat. Then apply them over the eyes for about 10 minutes. This process can help even with the persistent dark circles.

4. Take care of your health :
The dark circles may come as an indicator of anemic conditions, flu or cold like symptoms, due to certain specific allergies, due to morning sickness during pregnancies and similar health related issues that tend to exhaust you. Take good care of yourself to prevent this. Drink lots of water always and rely on a fresh fruits diet to lighten up the skin.
