Our bodies change as we grow older and the transition from childhood to adulthood brings its own unique set of problems. Although there are hundreds, if not thousands of acne skin care products on the market, you don’t need to spend a fortune tackling this complaint. These are some simple skin care tips that are free but will help you combat the effects of acne and get the glowing healthy skin that you so deserve.
First of all, water is your friend. All skin care regimes revolve around natural skin hydration and water is, of course, the most important element in this process. You should drink at least 6-8 glasses a day. Apart from helping to prevent acne, it too helps flush the toxins from your body and improves your general health. Your skin will glow and even your energy levels will be increased.
The next stage is to use a gentle facial cleanser on regular basis – that means at least 3 times a day – basis. Make sure any soap you use is natural and perfume free, and if your acne is particularly bad then consider using sulphur based soap. Make sure that you rinse well and pad the skin dry with a soft towel. Avoid rubbing the acne affected areas as this will simply cause irritation and inflammation.
Eat a balanced diet. We all know the importance of a good diet but for acne skin care this is a particularly important aspect of your treatment regime. Make sure that you eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and avoid foods such as pizza and sugary drinks as these stimulate hormone production which is linked to higher levels of sebum (oils) which in turn promotes the bacteria that leads to acne.
Finally, never, ever pop those pimples. No matter how unsightly they are and how tempting it is, you should avoid popping acne pimples at all costs. Popping them leads to a much higher risk of scarring and irritated and inflames the surrounding area. Bacteria can also be transferred to other parts of your skin thus worsening the problem.
Acne skin care need not be a complex or expensive process but it’s something that most of us will have to face at some time in our life. Luckily the vast majority of us grow out of the acne problem issue but it’s still important to follow these simple skin care tips to make sure that you have the best chance of a full clear-up.
